4/6/2017

To help you we've reached out to our friends across the mom and baby world for their best cleaning and organizational tips.

“We are ALL about Toy Rotations. Packing all your toys away in different bins and getting 1 bin down a day or even week. Our kids respond so well to this and they play more attentively to the toys they already have versus asking for new ones. Of course the best perk is that you have less clutter around the house, too!” –Emily, Small Fry

“Once they are old enough, the old game of hide and seek is your friend!  While the kiddos are hiding, you can clean and organize while counting down and on your way to find them.  It also keeps the chore of keeping things tidy fun for you.” –Rosie Pope, Rosie Pope

“A cleaning service is certainly one of my best investments as a single parent, working from home with 2 nutty kids, but the real life saver with a white home.... The Magic Eraser! Marker on the wall? Clean. Maya's blue hair dye on the wall? Clean.  Senna's fingerprints from sneaking into the make-up kit? Clean.” –Kim, Design Life Kids

“Hiding Spots: I hate the sight of toys, so we've added storage that allows me to make them all disappear at the end of the day. Basically our entire TV storage unit (shout out to IKEA - the Besta system is bomb) houses toys now, but I'm fine with that because once the kids are in bed, I get my living room back!” –Nikita, The Rebel Mama

“We are big fans of baby wipes for EVERYTHING!” –Rosie, Hubble + Duke

“You go through your clothing and change them out of your closets and draws for the seasons so don’t forget to hit your mini-me’s wardrobe and do the same. Pull out any items that are too small, damaged  or wearable for the next fall/winter. No you don't have to go all "Marie Kondo" on the kiddos, but do spend a little time reorganized by type of clothing article, color and size. Placing the larger sizes on the bottom of the pile so you make sure and get use of those smaller sizes first.” – Lisa, YouthfulNest

“Don’t forget to disinfect table legs, chair legs, and other furniture that’s in danger of being chewed.” –Amber, BabyMakes3

“I'd have to say my tips are - keep a (pretty) hamper in the kitchen for any dirty bibs and towels, so they don't end up all over the place after feeding baby. An organizational tip - only buy white baby socks! That way you don't have to search for matching itty-bitty baby socks while trying to get baby ready in the morning.” –Monica, Gugu Guru

"Our all time favorite way to clean our faux sheep skin rugs is to throw them in the washing machine on the delicate cycle with a few drops of fabric softner.  We dry them for about 30 minutes on the air fluff setting of the dryer and upon completion, lay them backing side up for a few hours until they are completely dry.  We later use a Wet brand brush (like the ones we use to detangle our kids hair!) and voila, a soft and perfectly clean carpet each time!!!” –Michelle, Kroma Carpets

"Review, Re-shelve and Re-gift the books! My kids have plowed through so many books in their lifetimes.  Some they couldn’t get enough of, some they have grown out of and some were read once and just sit on the shelf.  It’s a shame to let books sit there unloved when so many people could benefit from them.  I review the shelves periodically, pull out the books no one minds getting rid of and either donate them or re-gift them with a note or inscription that says it is a special gift from my son’s collection especially for them.” –Elizabeth, QuickZip Sheet Company
