“The days are long but the years are short.” It’s one of those sayings that never feels cliché because it rings so true. Some days of parenting can feel like moving through glue but then you look back at photos from just a few months ago and it seems like time has flown. There are more teeth (or less!), different activities and interests, funny faces they no longer make, and wobbly steps have become confident sprints.
So many of us have high hopes of keeping meticulous baby books and recording all the memories in the making. But let’s be honest -- sometimes real life doesn’t provide an opportunity for scrapbooking. Luckily, in this digital age, it’s easier than ever to aggregate memories in keepsakes. We wanted to share some of our favorite ways to do just that.
1. Moment Garden
The Moment Garden app enables you to upload photos and log moments. You can also choose the people you want to share it with so you have control over your child’s digital footprint. If you want a hardcover or softcover book you can just print them whenever you want to!
2. The Birth Poster
We love an incredibly sweet memento that you’ll cherish forever – and that doubles as decor. The Birth Poster creates 1:1 ratio birth posters that serve as a timeless reminder of how tiny your baby was at birth. They offer various illustration style and can do single or multiple babies per poster.
3. Mom's ONE Line A Day
A pretty little pink book to keep on *your* nightstand. The Mom's One Line A Day journal has space to write one line a day for five years ensures you’ll have so many memories to reflect on without the pressure to make it a whole thing. Because moms are busy.
We love this option for getting those memories off of your phone and into your hands. ChatBooks monthly mini book options are such a sweet addition to your little one’s room -- they LOVE seeing photos of themselves! We like the longer monthly books for our own memory keepsakes, too! The process is so easy which makes it a feasible way to keep up with printing photos.
Speaking of printing photos -- if you’d rather have photos to frame or put in your own album or baby book, the Mootsh photo service provides an easy way to print high-quality photos monthly. The reminder email is just the “ping” we need to remember to print photos each month!
6. SouND WAve Art Prints
Artsy Voiceprint artist Taline creates one of visualized piece of art that will remind you of the joy you felt the moment you heard your baby's heartbeat or first words. This artist takes the sound waves from memorable sounds and creates keepsakes that are meaningful and beautiful way to turn their cherished memories into art. They come in various materials and colors.
Last but certainly not least, we love the Qeepsake! It texts you questions about your child so you can have an ongoing journal of their life. You can also text it memories and photos you want to preserve!
