If you've been looking for just the right look, chances are you've come across Anewall's rich and inspiring designs. If you haven't... oooh girl, you're in for a treat! The decidedly vintage and travel inspired prints in the Anewall collection are so stunning that if you weren't considering incorporating wallpaper in your baby or kid's room, you probably will be after seeing them. The Anewall wall covering's endearing designs feature animals, nature, landscapes, florals and even some modern graphic patterns – while they may exude a hint of vintage, they are anything but antiquated. And if you aren't completely enamored with one of their luxe designs as-is, you can customize a design's color and measurements. We caught up with the two ladies behind Anewall (pronounced a–new-wall), to learn about their inspiration for inspiring others. Q&A With Anewall co-founders, Sydney and Richele Inspiring entire room designs one wall at a time Q. What were you doing when you decided to start and co-found Anewall? A. Richele: I was in a service-related internship program in our community. A. Sydney: I was working at a local coffee shop as a barista! Had no idea what I wanted to do next. Q. What are your backgrounds? Are either of you designers or have a design background? A. Richele: I am not a professional designer by any means, but my family is in the custom home building and design business. I grew up around interior design and always had a love for vintage and French country style. A. Sydney: My background is actually in science and I had always planned on being a doctor before jumping into Anewall. When I finished my undergrad I decided that medical school just wasn’t for me and this opportunity came along at the perfect time. Q. Where do you look for inspiration for your on trend designs? A. The inspiration for Anewall and trending designs comes from so many different things! We both have a love for traveling – Europe and Napa Valley (wine country) are two of our favorite spots to travel to. We often find inspiration for color palettes and designs when traveling whether it be through artwork, textiles, or branding to name a few. So many places are really focusing on their décor and ambience and we see this in different wall textures, fabrics, menu design etc. Really so many things! Q. Detoxing our interiors has become an important effort by homeowners, especially when it comes to little ones spaces. Can you tell us about your product’s materials? A. Absolutely! Detoxing our homes has really become a forefront focus when it comes to the products consumers are looking to buy. Having eco-friendly and non-toxic home goods is really important. We are happy to offer PVC-free products in our wallpaper line that are completely non-toxic. We are also proud to print with non-toxic latex inks that are free of nickel and other chemical pollutants. We have a few different material options available and try to print on the rawest materials we can in order to minimize the amount of any harmful paper components. Q. Can you tell us about your custom orders? We think this is just an amazing opportunity for a homeowner to get exactly what they want. A. At Anewall we are happy to offer custom orders to our consumers. Currently this includes custom mural sizing and custom coloring of existing designs. Creating a personal design experience that focuses on the individual’s space is so much more rewarding than solely offering standard sizing through our website. No one should have to settle for ordering a mural that doesn’t fit his or her space quite right! Learn more. Q. What’s the number one tip, other than having the wallpaper professional installed, that you can give someone doing-it-themselves? A. Take your time and watch our video installations. (Coming soon!) Installing wallpaper can be really daunting – we get it. We have installed a few wall murals on our own now and it has always been easier than we originally anticipate. We always like to tell customers – you can totally do it yourself if the wall is fairly basic and doesn’t have a lot of windows or doors on it. If it’s a complicated wall, hire an installer – no shame in that! Q. You have participated in a variety of collabS, which ones stand out you as favoriteS? A. Working with collaborators is a really fun and rewarding experience. These are a few of our favorites to date! Q. Can you share a few of your favorite finished room looks that have incorporated your products and make you smile? Q. What's your own personal home décor style? What favorite pieces do you have peppered into your home? A. Richele: Funky! I live in a smaller space, so I like to fill it with greenery (if I don’t kill all my plants within a week!!), patterns layering on patterns, different textures. My favorite piece is my tan leather couch, which is beautifully (may I add) accompanied with one of our dark murals behind it. The contrast makes that wall really pop! A. Sydney: My home is very minimalistic but has small touches of glam / bohemian style. It has a lot of light wood, white and neutral tones with gold accessories in the lighting. I’ve incorporated the Blush Floral Mural into my dining area (just off my living room), which gives the space a little extra boho flair. Q. Who are your favorite go-to home furnishing or décor brands? Anthropologie Perfect for adding those bohemian details and accessories. Restoration Hardware Staple furniture pieces. Urban Outfitters Great for finishing touches and accessories. Lulu & Georgia Love their ability to curate perfect spaces incorporating all of their home décor products. Q. Do you have a social media style crush and/or favorite blog? Sincerely Jules We love her dressed up, “neutral” take on style. The way she incorporates jewelry into casual looks to dress it up is one of our favorite things about her. Julia Engel I (Sydney) am totally obsessed with her new Gal Meets Glam dress line. I can’t decide which one to buy! Q. What's next for Anewall? A. We are excited to continue growing and offering our products through as many outlets and retailers as possible. We are excited to be collaborating with Pottery Barn this summer on a new kid’s line that will incorporate some of our “most loved” mural styles so be sure to check it out! We will also be hoping to launch a few new product types for our customers making it easier to install, hang and acquire our products. We want to be accessible to everyone: renters, homeowners, condo-dwellers, young people, old people etc. while still maintaining our luxury brand. Summer 2018 launches May 29th! Here are is a sneak peak! (Oh, and while your visiting the Anewall site, don't miss out on their collection of framed wall art and large prints. They bring a touch of decor that is rich in history for creating the most endearing youthful space.) GET More of AnewallComments are closed.
