If you missed it then let me introduce you to the Kisco Print Shop. What we love is that there's something pretty much for everyone and every room. In fact she has various pieces in her collection that have become for sale exclusively on another one of our favorite places for wall art, Minted. We chatted with the mama and founder Colleen Williamson about her start, favorite places she's spotted her prints and asked her some tough questions like, "Is a gallery wall still a thing?". Inquiring minds. Q&A with FouNDER Colleen WIlliamson Birthing an entire collection of cool Q. Where were you and what were you doing when you decided to start Kisco Print Shop? A. When my daughter was 2 – I was both a stay at home mom and a part-time creative consultant developing marketing and ad campaigns. I’ve always been in the creative sphere and I was starting to dabble more in digital design. I love creative development and design and thought “Well why don’t I do something on my own” – hence the birth of Kisco Print Shop. Q. Where do your print designs come from? A. I design and create all the prints that you see on www.KiscoPrintShop.com The idea behind my designs come from inspiration found in architecture, color blending and shapes seen in everyday life. Q. What trends are you seeing in wall art? Is the Gallery wall still a thing? A. I think the gallery wall is here to stay – it’s become classic, rather than a trend. Other ways to display art is to feature one oversized print – 40” x 60” or larger. I think frames make the art POP! But if you’re on a tight budget, there are so many creative ways to display art – including using a slack hanger, wire with clips, foam core or even creating a border around a print made out of ribbon or decorative tape. Q. What are some of your favorite examples of your pieces displayed in a home?A. I love how Emily Henderson display Kisco’s “Path of Life” print in her client’s study. The white/black pop against the dark, navy blue wall. Also, Cosmopolitan’s new office makeover in NYC features Kisco’s minimal “A Bend in the Road” print against a back drop of maximum design. Both are pictured below. Q. What are a couple of your most popular designs perfect for a nursery or child’s bedroom? A. Our most popular art print for a baby’s nursery is Kisco’s “Circle of Friends” – sold exclusively through Minted. Another design that is popular among the baby crowd is Kisco’s “Rainbow Ombre” print series. Especially when it’s framed in the neon lucite box frames! Q. Where can our followers purchase your lovely designs other than your website? A. I have a few exclusive art prints only available through Minted.com as well as Zola.com which carries some of my art prints that aren’t available on my website any longer. Q. What's your own personal kid’s décor style? What favorite pieces do you have peppered in their space?A. I love black and white simplicity with pops of color. Below is a picture of my little girl’s room that includes Kisco’s “Remember Who You Are” along with a custom kitty print that I created with her creative input. Q. Who are your favorite go-to home furnishing or décor brands for your kid/s room/s? A. I don’t have a favorite children’s brand as I use all brands and make them kid-friendly. In the picture above, the comforter is from West Elm and the pillow shams are from Ralph Lauren. Neither one was targeted towards kids décor. I love CB2, West Elm, Article and All Modern with touches of antiques dispersed throughout the modern design to add a touch of warmth! Q. Do you have a social media style crush and/or favorite blog? A. The list is endless! But here are a few: Gina Rachelle Design Style by Emily Henderson AndreaSchumacher Interiors Q. What's next for Kisco Print Shop?I am currently working on some cool partnerships for 2019! Unfortunately, I can’t share info about them just yet! Although the coverage we received on The View at the beginning of December was pretty exciting! For More Of Kisco Print Shop Comments are closed.
