I share a lot with our readers and followers on social media about all things best design practices and products for baby and kids' rooms. That sometimes includes tooting our own horn about our time-saving virtual interior design services and how we love helping real, busy moms. But talking about our services through words and still pictures lately seemed inadequate. Then I started working with one mother who was clearly meant to be on camera – her honest and expressive nature when talking about her appreciation for my expertise and using our virtual service gave me an idea beyond a room reveal. I proposed to my client Jeannine, a modern show idea that told the story from both sides of designing a nursery as a real, busy mom and as a virtual designer. She graciously agreed. The Virtually Perfect Room was born. About Ep.1 California Dreamin', Nursery Room Reveal
In this episode, Lisa works from her Omaha studio with Jeannine and Elliot Adams who live in Chicago's West Loop. They area expecting their second baby boy and it is time for their first born to transition into a big kid bed and pass down his crib to his baby brother-to-be.
Their new Chicago home has plenty of space for two new kids' rooms with one dedicated to a baby nursery. Which is exciting and a bit daunting to mom Jeannine. That's where Lisa steps in to help Jeannine achieve the nursery design of her California dreams. Jeannine and Elliot want their love of a minimal, non fuss interior design style that they have in the rest of their home to also play out in the baby’s nursery. There are a few design and install bumps along the way, one being finding just the right wallpaper the sets the tone for the entire room. Lisa also introduces as many highly functional and time saving elements into the nursery to make things convenient for these real, busy parents. Jeannine gets some much needed help from her favorite handyman Eli who helps her finish installing the wall decor and complete Lisa’s design.
So, after several months of going through the actual design process, filming and editing,
I am proud to present our very first episode of Virtually Perfect Room.
I hope you'll watch to the end and see how we worked through a few bumpy moments and design "oops", all the way to the amazing room reveal at the end! Click here to watch on YouTube. Subscribe to our channel for future episodes, other room reveals, DIY projects and design advice.
